INFORMATION
Downstairs:
The bright and airy living area 6m x 5.5m is dominated by
the original exposed oak beams and trusses, and decorative
mezzanine area. It contains a 2-seater comfy sofa, 2 antique
leather armchairs, a solid pine rocking chair and 2 occasional
chairs. There is a 6’ solid pine bench for additional
seating and a multi-functional authentic carpenters chest
which can be used as an occasional table, for seating or storage.
There
is also a TV (French channels
only) VCR, DVD, CD player and Playstation 2, plus an extensive
collection of video’s, CD’s and DVD’s, though
guests are welcome to bring their own too.
The
unique terracotta wine rack will be stocked with a selection
of local
wines, available for consumption via the honesty box! The
dining table can
accommodate 8 comfortably on an eclectic mix of wooden chairs,
and is lit by a medieval style wrought iron candelabra. There
are ample supplies of night lights and candles for balmy summer
evenings.
The
totally refurbished kitchen, 3.5m x 3.3m, with beamed ceilings,
tiled
floor and rear stable door has newly fitted hand built farmhouse
style units.
It is well equipped with all modern appliances inc. washing
machine,
fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and new 5-ring gas hob
with large
electric oven. There is a plentiful supply of utensils, crockery,
cutlery and
glassware.
Leading
off the living area is a single bedroom/extra sitting room,
3.3m x
2.6m. This room contains a solid pine single /day bed covered
with plenty of
soft cushions for day time use, solid reclaimed pine wardrobe
and 4-drawer
chest. It has a small occasional table with lamp and hi-fi.
On entering the hallway, there is a huge storage cupboard
housing all household essentials i.e. hoover, ironing board,
iron etc. In the shelved recess you will I (find an extensive
supply of paperbacks and many regional reference books and
maps detailing places of interest in the surrounding area,
associated manuals and leaflets to enable guests to make the
most of their stay at the property. There are also many popular
board games, binoculars, telescope, Boules, Playmobil and
darts board etc.

Double
Bedrooms and Bathrooms:
The
newly decorated sunflower bedroom, 2.5m by 4.6m contains a
period style wrought iron bed with mosquito net, hand painted
fitted cottage style wardrobes, antique washstand and solid
pine bedside cabinets with lamps. There is a solid pine mirror
with shelf unit and hairdryer provided.
The
bathroom next door comprises of bath, basin with large rattan
mirror,
and WC. The decor is neutral, tasteful and soothing!
Further
along the hallway is the shower room with WC, basin with large
rattan mirror and powerful shower.
The
pretty lavender bedroom, is adjacent to the shower room. It
comprises of a large double bed with mosquito net, chest of
drawers, small lamp table, wicker linen basket, shelf unit,
wall mirror and hair dryer. The boiler is also housed in this
room concealed by a blue painted cupboard.
Upstairs:
Leading from the kitchen are the steepish wooden stairs leading
to the 2 twin bedrooms in the loft area. As the ceilings are
quite low in places they are
probably best suited to older children.
The
charming rooms both feature
original beams, sloping ceilings and hand crafted solid oak
twin beds.
The
room on the left, 2.5m by 2.5m, has a tail wicker storage
chest, bedside table, mirror and shelf unit. The room opposite,
3.1m by 2.5m, has a chest of drawers,
small bedside table and lamps.
Garden and Pool
Externally the gardens extend to 3/4 acre. The pool measuring
8m x 4m is
usually available May-September. There are 4 reclining sun
loungers and 8
reclining chairs and large table. There is a pool alarm fitted
which complies with French
regulations. There is a large stone barbecue and lovely covered
gravel area
for al fresco dining or a game of boules! There is also a
selection of outdoor
games inc 4 x tennis rackets, football, badminton set, air
beds etc.
